The following describes how you secure a report group and how you define the persons that will have authority to create a new report group, maintain a report group and/or print the report group.
This is done in two steps:
- Activate the RWGROUP group in Work with authority groups.
- Secure the applicable report group in Work with report groups.
- Select the Work with authority groups menu item.
- On the main panel, select RWGROUP and click Change.
- You access the detail panel. Set Active group to YES, if not already done. Click OK.
- Select the Work with report groups menu item.
- On the main panel, select the applicable report group and click Change.
- You access the detail panel. Click Authority.
- You access Work with authority groups, Objects. Complete the following field:
- Default value
- The default is that no security is implemented. You can change the default field to that applicable, which will dictate the users you choose to include/exclude from maintaining and/or printing the report group. The alternatives are as follows:
- Here, change the default to 2 and click Object details.
- You access Work with authority groups, Object details. Click Add.
- On the detail panel you define the authority per user and routine for the selected authority group and object. Note: The authority that you define here overrides the authority default value defined for the object. Complete the following fields:
- User
- Enter the name of the user profile or group profile.
- Routine
- Enter the name of the routine.
- Authority
- Set to YES to indicate that the user has authority to access the object/routine/authority group. The code you enter here overrides the default value.
- Repeat steps 8-9 until all applicable users have been added. The report group is now secured. This means that nobody, except for the users that you added will be allowed to print the report group. Exit the routine.
Click OK.
