The following describes how to add manufacturing orders to a group order to which no manufacturing orders have been previously added. Note: If you want to add manufacturing orders to a group order that already contains manufacturing orders, read steps 1, 2 and 5 in this task.
Manufacturing orders will only be added to the group order if the following is true:
- The manufacturing order has the same warehouse as the group order.
- The manufacturing order has the same manufacturing order type as the group order.
- The manufacturing order header status is 10 (ready).
- If the group order is connected to manufacturing order headers, the manufacturing order start and completion dates must be within the start and completion dates of the group order.
- If the group order is connected to manufacturing order operations, the manufacturing order operation start and completion dates must be within the start and completion dates of the group order.
Tip: Use the Manufacturing order enquiry to verify that manufacturing orders meet these prerequisites exist.
Group order connection
Depending on the group order type the group order can be connected either to a manufacturing order header or operation.
- If the group order is connected to manufacturing order headers, the entire life cycle of the manufacturing orders will be influenced by the group order. The status of the manufacturing order will be automatically updated from the group order.
- If the group order is connected to an operation in a manufacturing order, it will only influence the manufacturing order status during that operation. When the connected operation is completed, the manufacturing order will continue its process in the manufacturing order life cycle.
