You work with manufacturing orders from order proposals created through the analysis proposal. See Create an analysis proposal for pull planning for those instructions.
You can work with order proposals both in shortage analysis and priority analysis. See Types of analyses for information about the different types of analyses.
You cannot create orders from order proposals that have a shortage date less than today’s date. The order proposal must be ready in past time if orders are to be created. When an order has been created the proposal will be updated with the manufacturing number and will remain with the same value as before. This means that a new calculation of shortage quantity will not be performed.
- Select the Work with pull-planning menu item.
- You access Work with pull-planning, Order proposals. Select the analysis proposal that you want to work with and click Work w proposal.
- You access Work with analysis proposal. Complete the following fields:

- Depending on your selection in Alternative above, you access either the Work with shortage analysis, Manufacturing panel or the Work with priority analysis, Manufacturing panel.
- In the shortage analysis, items with shortage code 0 are displayed first and then items sorted after increasing shortage code. If several items have the same shortage code, they are prioritised in shortage date order. (The shortage codes are displayed in the Sc column.)
- In the priority analysis, the items are sorted in order of priority where a priority value below zero denotes a critical item. Critical items must be manufactured immediately to prevent shortage. (The priority values are displayed in the P-val 1 and 2 columns.)
- Select an order proposal and click Order release. Use this option if you do not want to display the manufacturing order creation panel for the new order. When a preliminary order is released, the connected sales order line is also released and updated with the new dispatch date.
- Select an order proposal and click Release (prompt). Use this option if you want to display the manufacturing order creation panel in order to change some information before the new order is created.
- You access Manufacturing order creation, which is the starting panel for creation of manufacturing orders. The system defaults information that is retrieved from the system. The following fields are mandatory:

- Compl date

- Maint order

- The system creates the manufacturing order. Since you chose not to maintain the manufacturing order you return to Work with priority analysis, Manufacturing. The manufacturing order number is displayed under the item. Exit the routine.
Click OK.
You have two options from which to choose when releasing the manufacturing orders. You can:
Note: If you try to maintain (via the Order maintenance option) an item for which no order exists, the prompt for creation of manufacturing orders will be displayed.
Note: You can also create purchase orders for items that are usually produced internally. To do this, select a proposal and click Crt pur order. The prompt for creation of purchase orders will be displayed, where you enter the supplier.
For this task, select the order proposal for which you want to create a manufacturing order and click Release (prompt).
Click OK.
