Working with discontinued items

Related topics

In the process of working with discontinued items, you will learn how to define the inventory-controlled items that should be discontinued, how to modify existing items, and how to generate several periods for item and warehouse.

This functionality is used to create those items, which should be closed down. This is done on a gradual basis, that is, phasing the items out over a number of periods. The periods in which this should take place are defined along with the percentage of quantity that should remain. The information is, then, retrieved when you calculate a new forecast in Inventory Control.

For example, if you select Item price group = PG1, Warehouse = WHS1 for periods 201002 to 201004, then the items belonging to this item price group are displayed. The next time when you run a forecast calculation, the percentage will be included in the calculation for the actual month. After the period 201004, there will be 0 in the forecast for those items.
