- Select the Work with service control codes menu item.
- On the first main panel, select the control key class for which you want to define service codes.
- The second main panel displays the service codes that have been created for the selected control key class, if any. Click Add to create a new code.
- On the Work with service control codes detail panel, the following fields are mandatory:
- Key value
- Enter a key value. For each warehouse and key value in this control key class, you define a method and the parameters to be used for calculating ROP/SST.
- Note: The key value must be a valid code for the control key class displayed in the header. For example, if you are entering data for the item control key class, you must enter a valid item code.
- Note: This rule is valid for each control key class except the nickname class and default class. The nickname class allows you to define an arbitrary name that is not connected to a key within the system.
- Description
- Enter a description of the new record.
- Service based
- Indicate if you want to use the Service based method to calculate ROP/SST. This method calculates SST based on the desired service level.
- Demand based
- Indicate if you want to use the Demand based method to calculate ROP/SST. This method calculates SST as a percentage of demand during lead time.
- Service level %
- Mandatory entry if you have selected the Service based method. Enter a percentage indicating the service level that you want to maintain. The value must be less than 100% as it is impossible to obtain 100% service level. The higher the desired service level, the higher the cost of maintaining the service level. The service level is defined as the probability of being able to give a customer what he wants directly when he wants it.
- Demand fraction %
- Mandatory entry if you have selected the Demand based method. Enter a percentage value to be used in the calculation of SST. The SST is calculated as the percentage of forecasted demand during replenishment time.
- Minimum fraction %
- Only relevant if you have selected the Service based method. Enter a percentage value to be used in the calculation of the lower limit for SST. The lower SST limit is calculated as a percentage of forecasted demand during replenishment time.
- Maximum fraction %
- Only relevant if you have selected the Service based method. Enter a percentage value to be used in the calculation of the upper limit for SST. The upper SST limit is calculated as a percentage of forecasted demand during replenishment time.
- Maximum ROP dev %
- Optional entry. Enter a percentage value indicating the allowed maximum ROP deviation between the present period ROP value and the previous period ROP value. This value is used to determine if an error in ROP has occurred during calculation.
- Note: If this field is left blank, then the system has no way to alert you to deviations in ROP.
- Maximum SST dev %
- Optional entry. Enter a percentage value indicating the allowed maximum SST deviation between the present period SST value and the previous period SST value. This value is used to determine if an error in SST has occurred during calculation.
- Note: If this field is left blank, then the system has no way to alert you to deviations in SST.
Select method
Select one of the following methods for the calculation of the ROP/SST:
Enter parameters
Depending on the selected calculation method you must complete certain parameters. The parameters are:
Click OK. Exit the routine.
