Correct an A/R and A/P journal

The procedures of maintaining an A/R and A/P journal are very similar. The differences between the two types of journals will be described as you progress through this task.

  1. Select the Work with journals in error menu item.
  2. You access Journal maintenance, Select journal. Select an A/R journal to update.
  3. You access Journal maintenance – A/R invoices indicating all of the invalid entries with an asterisk (*). The default view mode is Invalid transactions. Toggle Invalid, Valid or All to change view mode. Select the posting you want to update.
  4. You access Journal maintenance – A/R invoices where you see the customer/debtor information. The system highlights incorrect entries. Correct the error and click OK to update the journal. The A/P invoice panel differs from the current panel in that you can see supplier rather than customer information.
  5. Note: You cannot alter control accounts and their amounts, nor add or delete any postings to the journals. You may have to rectify certain errors through tables and files in the system.

  6. You access Journal maintenance – A/R invoices. This panel is unique to A/R invoices. If there are any errors based on cash discounts, you must correct them. Exit the routine.
