Manually enter A/R invoices where the document number is the same as the voucher number

This setup is only applicable when you are entering manual invoices.

Prerequisites
A document type with Handling code set to 2 and a voucher type that has a voucher number series with Handling code set to 3 (manual numbering).

  1. Select the Enter financial transactions menu item.
  2. You access Financial system transaction entry. Enter a voucher type for A/R invoices and click OK.
  3. You remain on the same panel now showing the valid routines for the voucher type. The Voucher number field is blank. Tip: If you want the postings to receive the same voucher date as the document date, then you should blank out Voucher date on this panel. Tick A/R invoices and click OK.
  4. You access A/R invoice/credit note entry. Complete the following fields:
  5. Document type
    Enter a document type for A/R invoices.
    Document number
    Optional entry. The system proposes last entered document number plus one as next number to use. The number is validated against the voucher number series defined for the voucher type.
    Document date
    Customer number
    Enter the customer number of the transaction and click OK. Several fields are automatically defaulted for the customer from the Business partner file.

  6. Click OK until you access G/L postings entry for A/R documents. Note: The document number and voucher number are now the same. See Voucher and Document on this panel. Enter the accounting information. For further information about this panel, see Enter an A/R invoice with manual G/L postings. Exit the routine.
