Assume you have saved a data set as 950. This is the data set you now want to set as default for your new view. The data set contains the layout instructions and the fields of information that you already have defined. Once the view is created, the fields that it contains are available for display on the CMC panel. By, additionally, creating and connecting options and sub-options to your view, you will be able to narrow down the information and access other enquiry programs from the CMC panel.

  1. Select the CMC views menu item.
  2. You access Work with CMC views. Click Add.
  3. You access the detail panel where you complete the following fields:
  4. View
Enter a maximum of three characters to identify the view you are creating. For the purpose of this example, enter 950.
    Description
Assuming that the view you are creating is to be attached to your company’s receptionist, it is recommended to save the view under a name resembling that role. For the purpose of this example, enter Rcpt. Note: The description you enter here will be displayed on the view tabs of the CMC panel. Since there is limited space on the panel for the different views, you should keep each description short to be able to display as many views as needed.
    Default data set
Enter your new data set, i.e. 950 for the purpose of this example.

Click OK to update the view and Back to return to the initial panel.

CMC options
If you want to display additional detailed information in the view, you can connect an option to the view and by that gain access to more enquiry programs.

  1. On Work with CMC views select the 950 view and click CMC options.
  2. You access Work with CMC options. There are no entries on this panel, since the view to which you will be adding an option is new. When maintaining the preloaded views, this panel displays all options that exist under the selected view. Click Add to create a new option pertaining to your selected view, which is displayed at the top of the panel. Complete the following fields:
  3. Option
Enter a three-character code that will identify the option. For the purpose of this example, enter 951.
    Description
Enter a description of the option. For this example, enter Reception.
    Application
Enter an application code from the Application definition table that is to be used for the retrieval of the information.

Click OK to update and Back to return to the previous panel. Your new option is now added to the Options table.

CMC sub-options
In order to narrow down the information and access more detailed enquiry programs through the CMC panel, or to call other programs to work with, you are able to create and then connect a sub-option to an option. For the purpose of this example, you will create a sub-option enabling you to access the Transaction type table enquiry program. The procedure is described below.

  1. On the Work with CMC options panel, select option 951 and click CMC sub-options.
  2. You access Work with CMC sub-options. Click Add to create a sub-option pertaining to the selected option and the view to which they both are to be connected. These are displayed at the top of the panel.
  3. On the Work with CMC sub-options detail panel, complete the following fields:
  4. Sub-option
Enter a unique code that will identify the sub-option. For this example, enter 01.
    Alias
Enter an alias, i.e. a more precise description, of the sub-option. For this example, enter Transaction types.
    Program
Enter a program name. This program will be called when the sub-option or alias entered on this panel is selected on the CMC panel. For this example, enter DMR132.
    Program parameter
This field is mandatory or optional depending on whether or not the program name entered on this panel requires parameters. If a parameter is entered, the system will verify if it is correct. For this example, enter A(2;).
Note: All Iptor.com enquiry programs containing Customer as input parameter can be set up as an option to the CMC. Any other requirements must be programmed in the Iptor.com system.

Click OK to update and Back to return to the previous panel. Your new sub-option is now added to the Sub-options table.

    Exit the routine.
