You have the option to manually create the lines or copy any existing lines from the same report or another report.
A line report is a more manually created report, whereby you manually create each line you want to analyse.
Line types
The lines you create can be any of the following:
- Item line, meaning the values for the line will be retrieved according to the From/to selection values you define. You define the selection values for any or all of the keys included in your report.
- Sum line, meaning you want this line to only contain totals.
- Text line, meaning this line is for informational purposes only – as text – on the report.
- Calculation line, meaning this line will contain a calculation formula which will result in two or more lines being calculated to achieve the result.
Note: Unlike versions for Summary reports, there is no Key sorting with Line reports. You manually decide in which order the line will appear on the report, by assigning each line a numeric sequence number.
Tip: If you plan to add Lines at a later point in time, it is recommended that you assign the Line numbers with a large interval (e.g., 10, 20, 30, or 100, 200, 300). This will enable easy insertion of a line in the future without having to renumber the entire report.
The information in the Lines page is in the form of a Notebook, with specific pages accessible depending on the type of line your create.
After you have defined all the lines for your report, you are ready to define the columns (if not already done) or the layout of the report.
