The following describes how to define the information from which the selection for the keys will be done and the applicable periods from which this information will be retrieved.

  1. Select the Manage PA definitions menu item and open the applicable definition (if this has not already been done).
  2. Toggle to the Selections page.
  3. The Display only keys used in definition key selection field has a checkmark by default, which means that the keys on which you sorted are displayed in the Description column. Unmark this field if you want to see all available keys.

    Selection
When defining the selection for the keys you have the following options:

    • Leave the From, To and Mask fields blank which means that all applicable information for the key(s) will be selected
    • Narrow down the selection for the keys by entering From/To values in the applicable cell. Click in the applicable cell and then enter the value.
    • Narrow down the selection for the keys by entering a Mask in the applicable cell. This means that in each position of a key field you can enter a character that corresponds to the values you want to include in the selection. For example, 4___________ in the Customer field will include only those customers whose numbers start with a 4. You must complete the positions that are not used with underscore characters.

Tip: When you have clicked in the applicable cell, in which you want to narrow down the selection, click Find to simplify the search.

    Period range
In the fields on the bottom of the window enter the From Year and Period and To Year and Period from which the selection shall be valid.

Note: When viewing the output of the report you have the option to drill down on the individual periods to view the values.

Note: If you use any relative period values you have to specify the current period when you create a report.

When finished you are ready to define the columns for the report.
