Related topics

To be able to create a manufacturing order, a bill of material must exist for the item.

During the creation process you have the option to maintain the manufacturing order directly after creation. See Change a manufacturing order for instructions. For the purpose of this example, you will set the Maint order field to NO, meaning that the manufacturing order will not be accessed after the creation.

  1. Select the Work with manufacturing block orders menu item.
  2. You access Work with block order. Select the applicable block order and click Create M-order.
  3. You access Manufacturing order creation. The system defaults information previously entered for the block order. Complete the following fields:
  4. Variant
Enter the variant of the item. The base structure always has variant 000.
    Order type
Enter the order type to be used for the manufacturing order.
    Start date
You must enter either a start date or a completion date (field below). Defaults with today’s date. Leave the defaulted date or change to the planned start date of the manufacturing order. Note: You can also enter the optional start time of the manufacturing order in the textbox beside the Start date textbox, denoting when the order is planned to be started. This textbox is only displayed if the MPL-TIME (Plan operation by date/time) function is activated in the Function control file.
    Compl date
You must enter either a completion date or a start date (field above). Enter the planned completion date of the manufacturing order. Note: You can also enter the optional completion time of the manufacturing order in the textbox beside the Compl date textbox, denoting when the order is planned to be completed. This textbox is only displayed if the the MPL-TIME (Plan operation by date/time) function is activated in the Function control file.
    Maint order
Indicate if you want to maintain the manufacturing order directly after the creation. For this example, set this field to NO.

Click OK when you have completed all relevant fields.

  5. Since you chose not to maintain the manufacturing order, the system creates the manufacturing order and you return to Work with block order.
  6. View manufacturing order number
To view the manufacturing order number you have several options from which to choose. You can:

    • Select the block order and click Display to access the Block order enquiry. The order number for the last created manufacturing order is displayed in the Last order field.
    • Select the block order and click Enquire included orders to view all manufacturing orders that have been created for this block order. Using this option you can drill down to view information about the created orders.
