Block orders can only be created for items with item class 1 (stock item, standard).
- Select the Work with manufacturing block orders menu item.
- You access Work with block order. Click Add.
- You access Block order maintenance. Complete the following fields:
- Block order
- You have two options from which to choose when defining the block order number. You can:
- Manually enter a block order number that is outside the limits of the series for automatic numbering of block orders.
- Leave the field blank. The system automatically retrieves the next available number in the number series.
- Item
- Enter the item to be manufactured in the block order. The item type must be 1 (end item) or 2 (sub-assembly).
- Warehouse
- Enter the warehouse to which the item will be delivered.
If the STKOWNER (Stock Ownership) function is activated in the Function control file, the warehouse entered must be classified as a normal or trade (logical) warehouse (i.e. the Warehouse characteristic flag in Work with warehouses must be set to 1 (normal) or 2 (trade). - Order type
- Enter the order type that will be used when the manufacturing order is created.
- Total quant
- Enter the total quantity to be produced. When the created quantity is equal to or greater than this value, the status of the block order is automatically set to 60. Otherwise it is set to status 40 when the first manufacturing order is created.
- Order quant
- This field is only mandatory if the EOQ is not defined for the item. If the EOQ is not defined, enter the quantity to be used as order quantity when creating the manufacturing order.
- If the EOQ is defined and this field is left blank, the proposal value will be one EOQ adjusted with multiple quantity at creation. It is also possible to enter a deviation quantity even if the EOQ is defined.
- Order freq
- Enter the frequency value for the block order, indicating how often a manufacturing order should be created.
- Valid from
- Enter the first possible date indicating when creation of manufacturing orders is possible.
- Valid to
- Enter the last possible date for creation of manufacturing orders.
- You return to Work with block order listing all block orders in descending numerical order according to the block order number.

Click OK when you have completed all relevant fields. The system updates the new block order and clears the panel. Click Cancel to return to the initial panel.
Change order
To change a block order, select the order and click Change. Refer to the field descriptions in step 3 above.
Note: It is not possible to change a block order once manufacturing orders have been created (status 40), or when the block order is closed (status 60).
Complete your changes and click OK to update and return to Work with block order. Exit the routine.
