From this panel you can interactively increase the size of a purchase suggestion to meet a specific target value for an order’s weight, value or volume. For each value you enter, the system cycles through the purchase suggestion lines (including lines for items not originally suggested for purchase) increasing planning days and purchase lines until the target value is reached.
If any of the following apply for the purchase suggestion line, then the line is not included in the Interactive line buy and is therefore not re-calculated:
- The reorder point for the item/warehouse combination is manually defined.
- The SP code is YES for the item.
- The item/warehouse combination is defined with purchase type 3.
Note: The Interactive line buy function is only available if Advanced Purchase Control is installed and activated.
Function keys
| Increase sugg order size | Recalculate the order suggestion to meet the target values you entered. |
| Revert to previous | Only applicable for changes made since you last entered this panel. Reset all order suggestion values to the amounts generated by the previously entered target values. |
| Revert to original | Reset the order suggestion to its original values. Any manual or special discount quantities for this suggestion will be cleared. |
- Suggestion number
- Displays the purchase suggestion number currently being maintained.
- Description
- Displays the description of the purchase suggestion.
- Supplier
- Displays the supplier on this purchase suggestion.
- Target value
- Enter the desired target value for this suggestion. The value entered in this field is defined by the code you enter in the Discount value code field.
Note: If the Order target review code is set to YES for the purchase suggestion line, then this field is defaulted with the value from the Work with purchase suggestions panel.
- Target based on
- Enter the code corresponding to the value entered in the Target value field.

- Total value
- Displays the total purchase value of this suggestion in the suggestion currency.
- Suggestion currency
- Displays the currency used in this suggestion.
- Total value
- Displays the total purchase value of the suggestion in the system currency.
- System currency
- Displays the system currency.
- Total gross weight
- Displays the total gross weight of the suggestion lines in this suggestion.
- Total net weight
- Displays the total net weight of the suggestion lines in this suggestion.
- Total gross volume
- Displays the total gross volume of the suggestion lines in this suggestion.
- Total net volume
- Displays the total net volume of the suggestion lines in this suggestion.
- Orig value (sug cur)
- Displays the original total purchase value of the suggestion in the suggestion currency.
- Orig value (sys cur)
- Displays the original total purchase value of the suggestion in the system currency.
- Target value
- Displays the target value in system currency, which is the purchase value you should try to reach. The target value is retrieved from Work with periodic purchase and order targets for the line code and supplier in this purchase suggestion.
- Inter. line buy days
- Displays the number of days added to the suggestion to meet the target value entered in the Target value field. The maximum allowable number of days by which a suggestion may be increased is defined in the IC control file, and may not exceed one year.
- Target gross weight
- Displays the target gross weight, which is the total gross weight of the order lines you should try to reach. The target gross weight is retrieved from Work with periodic purchase and order targets for the line code and supplier in this purchase suggestion.
- Target net weight
- Displays the target net weight, which is the total net weight of the order lines you should try to reach. The target net weight is retrieved from Work with periodic purchase and order targets for the line code and supplier in this purchase suggestion.
- Target gross volume
- Displays the target gross volume, which is the total gross volume of the order lines you should try to reach. The target gross volume is retrieved from Work with periodic purchase and order targets for the line code and supplier in this purchase suggestion.
- Target net volume
- Displays the target net volume, which is the total net volume of the order lines you should try to reach. The target net volume is retrieved from Work with periodic purchase and order targets for the line code and supplier in this purchase suggestion.
