By entering ranges or stating individual values for the different fields below, you define what information is to be included in the inventory calculation. The inventory calculation includes the calculation of the purchase control values for each item/warehouse combination in the selection. The purchase control values are forecast, economic order quantity (EOQ), safety stock (SST), and reorder point (ROP). When you execute this routine, you update:
- The Forecast file with period forecasts.
- The Inventory management item file with year forecast, EOQ, ROP, and SST.
Note: The economic order quantity (EOQ), safety stock (SST), and reorder point (ROP) is only calculated for items where 1 is defined in the Item class field on the Inventory information panel in the Item file. For all other items, those values will be zero.
A calculation control report containing information on the calculation errors is printed.

Specification
Define the selection further by changing the parameters in the fields below.
- Forecast period
- You can change the forecast period in this field. It cannot be greater than the present period or less than the last historical period in the system. If you choose a historical period, the system recalculates the forecast from the specified period up to and including the present period, and for all future forecast periods. The calculation of EOQ, ROP, and SST is always done for the present period.
- Calc from SOP/DP
- Only shown if Sales and operation plan or Demand plan is installed and activated. Indicate if the calculation should be done from a sales and operation plan (SOP) or a demand plan (DP). Note: Demand plans of type 4 (Speculation inventory) and 5 (Additional forecast) are always included in calculation if they are active.
- Create supply plan
- Only shown if Supply plan is installed and activated. Indicate if a supply plan should be created based on the inventory calculation.
- Create lower level
- Only shown if Supply plan and Manufacturing are installed and activated. Indicate if lower levels should be created for the supply plan. This field can only be set to YES if the Create supply plan field is YES.
- Lead time adjustment
- Only shown if Supply plan and Manufacturing are installed and activated. Indicate if requirements on lower levels should take the lead time into consideration when allocating the requirement date. This field can only be set to YES if the Create supply plan field is YES.
- Demand replacement
- Only shown if Demand plan is installed and activated. If this field is set to YES, then the period demand will be replaced if an active demand plan for the applicable item/warehouse/period exists. This demand will then be used to calculate the forecast.
- Retrieve supply plan
- Indicate if the forecast should be retrieved from a supply plan in order to override the forecast that has been calculated within Inventory Control. If this field is set to YES and no supply plan is found, then the forecast will instead be calculated within Inventory Control.
