Only manually held orders or orders with system-defined order held reason codes defined with Manual release = YES may be manually released. An overview of the system-defined reason codes can be found in the Work with order held reason codes section.
You can release an order in two ways.
- In the Work with service orders program:
- On the Header view panel, click Shift info to view the H column in which orders held on order level are indicated by the panel value for order (O).
- Select the applicable order and click Hold reasons. On panel Work with held service orders, Reasons, click Release and confirm. If several held reasons exist for the order, you will access the Held reasons panel. From there you then release the order.
- In the Work with held service orders program, which is described in this task.
Note: Although you selected an order containing order level reason codes, this order can also contain reason codes assigned on line level.
- Select the Work with held service orders menu item.
- On the initial panel, the following columns are of interest:
- Order
- Displays the order number.
- Handler
- Displays the signature of the person who entered the order.
- Hld
- Indicates the level at which the order is being held (i.e. panel values indicating Lines or Order). For this task, you can only select a record that is being held at order level (O).
- RC
- Displays the reason code defined on the order header when the order was held. For information about the codes that are pre-loaded at the time of installation, see the Work with order held reason codes section.
- You access Work with held service orders, Reasons. Click OK to confirm the release. The order process can now continue.
If you want to work with the order, click Maintain order.
If several reason codes exist and you want to drill down to view all reasons before you release the order, click Reasons, then All reasons.
For this task, select the order you want to release and click Release order.
Note: After the release, the Released by field on the Work with held service orders, Reasons panel displays a code from the Signature table indicating the credit handler who released the hold. For system-released holds, the field displays *SYSTEM.
Exit the routine.
