The following describes how to schedule orders lines for consecutive working days.
- Select the Work with sales orders menu item.
- Enter a new sales order or select an existing one and click Lines.
- You access Work with sales orders, Order lines. Enter the Item code for the item that you want to create scheduled dispatches for. Note: If you have opened an existing sales order make certain that sales order lines for that item have not been previously entered. Select the item you want to create scheduled dispatches for and click Schedule.
- You access Sales order line scheduling. To compute dispatch dates on a successive daily date basis, the following fields are mandatory:
- Schedule type
- Tick the Daily radio button for a daily dispatch.
- Starting disp date
- Displays the dispatch date, but can be changed. Enter the first dispatch date for the scheduled lines.
- Total disp quantity
- Enter the total quantity you want to dispatch.
- No of dispatches
- Enter the number of dispatches to take place. Tip: If you leave the Qty per disp field blank, the system will calculate the number of lines that are to be generated by dividing the number in the No of dispatches field into the Total disp quantity. Otherwise you can manually define how many dispatches you want.
- You return to Work with sales orders, Order lines where the accepted scheduled lines are displayed. You can now treat these order lines as you would any other sales order line. See About sales order entry.
When you click OK the system will calculate the quantity per dispatch and display the lines on the bottom half of the panel. The system calculates the applicable number of lines, with a quantity per line, to be dispatched on the dates in the Disp dat column. Note: These dates are working days for your company. Holidays and non-working days are omitted by this routine. The lines above the black line are within the planning time. The lines below it are outside the planning time. The Net avail column displays the available quantity for the date of dispatch for that line. Note: You can change the warehouse for the line, but the Current available quantity, (in the header of this panel), is for the warehouse entered /displayed on the header of this panel. You can change any data, and/or click Add line to add new lines.
To accept these lines, click Accept. As soon as you accept the lines, the system re-calculates the available quantity. This is because events to these order lines and/or item could occur after this original booking. See Reschedule order lines to see the result of this quantity.
