The following describes how to view available quantity for batch-controlled items which are under date handling.
Note: You view information for batch-controlled items not under date handling, as you would for a normal item. (See View available quantity for a normal item for instructions).
- Select the Time axis enquiry program.
- You access Time axis enquiry, Inventory. Enter a batch-controlled item which is under date handling in the Item code field and click OK.
- You access Batch time axis enquiry. The same fields are displayed, as described in View available quantity for a normal item, including the following additional fields:
- Expired
- Displays, for each period (day or week), the sum of the item that has expired and is not available for sale.
- Matured
- Displays, for each period (day or week), the sum of the item that has matured to the point where it is now available for sale.
You also have the option to:
- Click Inventory info to view different sets of information as:
- Under incubation
- Displays the quantity of the item that is under incubation and expected to mature at a later date.
- Held
- Displays the quantity held, if any. This is retrieved from the Batch file if the Hold field is set to YES.
- Allocated
- Displays the total value of all allocations for the item.
From this panel you also have the option to:
- Click Non-conf certs to view available stock for non-conformity certificates, if usable and/or unusable stock on hand exists.
- Click Chg key to change the function keys. Now you can click Cust info to enter customer information, which is used to calculate the dispatch date. This function is ideally used before entering a sales order to view the delivery of available quantity. Note: This function key is only displayed if the batch-controlled item is under Date handling.
- Click Print to print a time axis report
- Click Orders/bch to view all entered batches and/or sales and purchase order lines. (See step 5 below.)
- Click Pl time to access the Planning time enquiry
- Click Display item to view detailed information for the item.
To exemplify, click Chg key and then Cust info.
- The same panel is displayed, but with three new fields on the top of the panel. You can enter information in the fields on the top of the panel, which will be used to calculate the dispatch date. Note: You can use this function to ensure the quantity is available for delivery on the requested date for the manner of transport. For example, if there is a long transport time (the manner of transport is by sea), the batch may have expired before the goods are to arrive at the customer. By viewing this information you can delay the delivery and/or change the manner of transport on the sales order. The following information can be entered:
- Customer
- Enter the customer number to retrieve the transport time from the Customer transport time table and calculate a dispatch date. The arrival date will be updated in the Last arrival field and the applicable cell. Tip: You can also enter this in combination with the Manner of transport to retrieve the same information, depending on the information defined in the Customer transport time table.
- MOT
- You can enter the manner of transport, together with the customer number in Customer to retrieve the transport time from the Customer transport time table and calculate an arrival date. Note: The arrival date (the time it will take the goods to arrive at the customer after being shipped) will be updated in the Last arrival field and the applicable cell.
- Last arrival
- Will be updated with the transport time and arrival date. This information is calculated from the information entered in Customer (and M.O.T if entered).
- You access Time axis enquiry, Inventory, listing all entered batches and/or sales and purchase order lines.
Click OK.
The system will update the information and display the Last arrival date in the Last arrival field.
Click Orders/bch to view all entered batches and/or sales and purchase order lines.
Outside planning time
A dotted line through the panel is displayed to differentiate between order lines and batches within the planning time and those outside the planning time. The order lines outside the planning time never influence the available quantity today. This is because you can always get new supplies to cover that order.
