Order lines that were not automatically added to a shipment by the system can be added through this routine.
Note: If the shipment to which you want to add unattached lines is defined with a shipment type specified for order assignment, then you are not able to select lines through this function.
There are several options when you work with unattached lines. You can:
- Add unattached lines to a selected shipment
This function is used when you have an unattached line that you want to ship. It finds all available shipments that your line can be added to. - Move unattached lines to a selected shipment
This function is used when you have a shipment that is ready to depart, but is not filled to capacity. Sales order lines that match the shipment criteria (destination, manner of transport, handling codes) are added to it, thus completing the load prior to shipping. - Create a new shipment and add unattached lines to it
This function is used when several unattached lines are suited to go in the same shipment. A new shipment is created with the lines attached to it.
Add unattached lines to a selected shipment
- Select the Work with unattached lines menu item.
- On the header panel, mark the lines that you want to add to a shipment and click Select shipment. Tip: You can narrow down your search by using the More selections function key. And, select the lines that have the same destination as your route.
- You access Select shipment. All shipments that are due to be dispatched out of the same warehouse as your unattached order line(s) are listed on this panel and if they fulfil the following criteria:
- Shipping status is 10.
- The shipments are compared with the saved search parameters that you defined in Create an outbound shipment (step 5).
- If the sales order line has a hazard code (for handling dangerous goods), then it must be authorized to be shipped by the manner of transport (MOT) defined for the shipment and it must be the same as the hazard codes of the other lines in the shipment. It must also be permitted on the vehicle that will be used to transport the goods.
- You return to Work with unattached lines. The line has been transferred to the selected shipment. Exit the routine.
Select the shipment that you want to add the unattached line to.
Move unattached lines to a selected shipment
- Select the Work with unattached lines menu item.
- On the header panel, select the lines that you want to move to a shipment and click Move. Tip: Click More selections and search for the lines that have the same customers, warehouse and manner of transport as your route.
- You access Move lines to shipment. From this panel you can move unattached lines to an existing shipment. Complete the following information:
- Shipment
- Enter the shipment number that you want to move the line to.
- Tip: Enter the shipment number, once, in the first line and click Repeat shipment. The shipment number will be entered on all lines.
- You return to Work with unattached lines.

Note: If you previously entered search criteria in the More selections panel and moved all of the unattached that were found to a shipment, then this panel may no longer be displaying any sales order lines. To view all sales order lines, then access, once again, the More selections panel and remove the search criteria that you have previously entered.
