Add lines through order assignment

Related topics

The following describes how to add lines to an outbound shipment using the Order assignment functionality.

Prerequisites
The outbound shipment must be defined with a shipment type with Order assignment set to YES and in which applicable assignment rules are specified.

  1. Select the Work with outbound shipments menu item.
  2. On the header panel, select the applicable outbound shipment and click Order assign.
  3. You access Order assignment, sales orders. From this panel you are able to manually assign sales orders or pick lists to the selected outbound shipment. Toggle Sales orders/Pick lists to choose which type of lines you want to assign. Here, choose Sales orders.
  4. Complete the following information:

    Sales order
Enter the sales order number that you want to assign to the shipment. If you want to assign more than one, then you enter the orders one by one for each sequence number on the panel.
Note: The sales order type used on the orders must be defined for Shipment preparation.

Click OK. All lines on the entered orders that are not previously assigned to any outbound shipment, and have an allowed order line status (if defined on the specified shipment type) are added to the outbound shipment.

  5. You access Assigned orders. The Sequence column lists the sequence numbers of the orders assigned to the shipment and is the same as the sequential order in which they were entered on the previous panel.
  6. The Delivery sequence column lists the delivery sequence numbers. These numbers determine the print sequence on the loading list and on the route delivery list indicating the order in which the delivery addresses included in the shipment should be arrived at during the route.

On this panel you have the following options:

    • Click Add to add a new sales order to the shipment.
    • Click Add orders to include several orders in correct sequences between already assigned orders.
    • Click Change to alter the entry sequence of the orders.
    • Click Delivery addresses to change the delivery sequence. See Maintain the delivery sequence on a shipment address for more information.
    • Click Lines to work with the connected shipment lines.
    • Select Close and Ship from the Function list to close a shipment or update it as shipped.

    Exit the routine.
