Convert a table into graphical format
In Analyser you can display any tables with numerical values as graphs using the Graph tool. To be able to do this, you must select at least one column heading and the entries in the column must be numerical.
To outline the procedure, you will convert some numerical table entries for one column in the Sales order browser.
- Open the Sales order browser.
- Click Find to retrieve all values in the table.
- Select one column with numerical entries (e.g., Order value column) and then the applicable rows of data in the column. Click the Show graph icon on the bottom toolbar.
- You access the Business Graphics window displaying the data in graphical format. The default type (format) for the graph is bar graph. You can change the graph type to any other supported type (as described in Change the way in which you want to view the graph below).
Change the way in which you want to view the graph
After the graph is created, you have several options available for changing the way in which you want to view the graph. To change the graph settings, click any part of the graph with the right mouse button. Then do as outlined below. Note: If a control panel is displayed in grey, it is disabled and cannot be performed in the window in which you are working.
Choose | Result |
---|---|
Full size | You display the full size graph as a separate window. This command is only active if the graph is currently displayed as part of another window. |
Redraw | You refresh the drawing. |
Select… | You can select the graphs, groups and icons to be displayed without having to return to the original table. |
Graph type | You can select the graph type from the following: Bar chart, Pie chart, Line graph and Multi-line line graph. |
Settings | You can select settings regarding the Display, Scroll, Page size, Font and Colour properties. |
Reverse sign | You can reverse the positive or negative values of the table entries. This function is particularly useful if you view a pie chart on which negative values cannot appear. |
Change grouping | The system inverts the horizontal and vertical values in the graph. |
Colours | You can select a colour and then click an area of the graph to change the colour. Colour changes are not saved when you exit the window. However, your colour selections will appear on any printouts you make. |
Save the graph and recall it at a later time
You also have the option to save any graphs and recall them for viewing, printing or emailing at a later time.
