The search for business partner addresses allows for a true wildcard search. Unlike the Business partner search fields, the address search fields do not work against any generated search words defined in the Business partner field control table. The search fields in the Select business partner address file, instead, run against all data in the Business partner address file, excluding the YES/NO flags.
The access to the Select business partner address file is from any address number field in the system. When you first access this file, the Type field will be loaded with the panel value for the type of address you were working with. The applicable addresses will be displayed for the business partner. For example, if you access this panel from the Work with sales order, Confirmation address panel, the Type field will be loaded with the panel value for confirmation (CO) and all confirmation addresses for the business partner will be displayed. If you want to view all addresses for this business partner, blank out the Type field.
The search for an address is done by entering any character in the five search fields at your disposal. For example, if you enter the letter S, all addresses for the business partner that contain the letter S in any of the field values (excluding the YES/NO flags) in the Business partner address file will be displayed.
